Why We Love It

Balliceaux is vibrant and eclectic. Its food is French Indochine and Thai inspired, and its decor is eloquent and relaxed. It is the winner of several awards including the "2016 Event Space" by Borrowed and Blue; "Best Place to Dance" by RVA Magazine; and "Top 25 Restaurants" by Richmond Magazine. It has been profiled by publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal and Food and Wine.

The restaurant's specialties include cabbage three way, with Thai basil and VA peanuts; slow-poached octopus, toasted with chili lime; lobster Salad with micro greens and Kampot vinaigrette; grilled marinated pork shoulder with iced yu choy jaew dipping sauce; and hanger steak.

Balliceaux is divided into two custom spaces with a gourmet open kitchen. Balliceaux was one of the first restaurants in Richmond to local food sourcing and craft cocktails. It has held private events ranging from wedding receptions to holiday parties. Past corporate clients include Altria, Martin Agency, VCU Brand center, MCV, 3 North Architects, Ellwood Thompsons, Need Supply and Richmond International Film Festival.
