Plan your best group event in Richmond, VA
ComedySportz is comedy played as a sport. But whether or not it is actually about any sports is up to you!
ComedySportz Richmond has been making Richmonders laugh since 1996. Their troop has won "Best Local Comedy Group" by Style Weekly Magazine 4 times, and has won "Best Comedy Club" and "Best Performing Arts Company" awards from Virginia Living Magazine from 2012-2015.
Groups can come to their location at 8906 West Broad Street, or ComedySportz can come to another location for a private performance anywhere in Virginia.
ComedySportz Richmond offers a wide variety of private events. Their signature event is a competitive improv match that declares a winner through last person standing. The tone can be naughty or nice, as the Brown Bag Foul keeps it clean for all ages and environments. Events run the gamut from from limited to complete audience participation.
Public Shows at the CSz Richmond theater
Groups can book a show and sit together. Shows are at the theater on Broad Street 3-4 times a week:
ComedySportz Richmond will put on a private match for any age earlier in the day. Kids love to learn and be silly. Improv allows them to do both, while building self confidence and acceptance.
Custom matches can range from 30 to 90 minutes. Team building events can be as short as 2 hours and as long as 8 hours.
The capacity is only limited to available space.
At CSz Richmond's locations, the theater fits 100 and the training center fits 45.
CSz Richmond has led corporate groups of up to 900 people.
CSz Richmond offers two spaces for events. Both are located near one another at the Gold's Gym plaza in Richmond (Henrico). Both spaces have a stage, sound system, and an easily customizable space for chairs or tables or a dance floor.
Concessions are available at the theater and include standard snack fare: chips, candy, nuts and sodas.
Private catering is encouraged for private events. Any catering company can be used without restriction.
CSz provides tables for catered events if needed.
Q: What's the minimum recommended age?
A: 7 years old for kids parties.
Q: Are your shows appropriate for any age?
A: ComedySportz matches are always for everyone, no matter what age. Other shows may be customized for the adult crowd.
Q: I'm an introvert. Is this only for extroverts?
A: Our Improv comedy approach is perfect for both introverts AND extroverts alike. People sometimes think that they will be the butt of the joke, but that is not the case. Improv comedy helps people shine, whether they talk and sing and joke the whole time or don't say anything at all.

"As I run a small business in town, I hired ComedySportz to conduct "Communication" training with my Sales team. We had the sales meeting on-site, and then adjourned to the theater for two hours of interactive exercises. What a blast...and wow did I learn alot about some of our team-members. If you're looking for a fresh and entertaining spin on the same old boring meetings you've been having, call these folks!" - Jack Holtrop, ABM Building Services
