Plan your best group event in Richmond, VA
Not many people know that Richmond, VA was the site of the first successful trolley car system in the world in 1888. RVA Trolley is bringing the trolleys back to Richmond. Their four historic trolleys are modeled after the original trolleys from the early 1900s. The seats are padded and the trolleys are enclosed and heated in the winter months. "Social seating" makes it easy to converse. Knowledgeable trolley guides combine unique stories about Richmond in fun ways.
Group sizes can range from two to 34 people per trolley. RVA Trolley can accommodate up to 140 people with the use of multiple trolleys that include room for standing. Tours include:
PLANTATION TOUR. Some of the oldest plantations in the country are a 20-minute ride outside of Richmond. A Plantation Trolley Tour visits Shirley and Berkeley Plantations and includes a guided walking tour. Tours may include a box lunch or a private luncheon at a courthouse grill.
CRAFT BREWERY TOUR. Richmond is becoming a craft beer destination and RVA Trolley offers an intriguing way to visit the multiple new craft breweries. Breweries that can be included on the tour include Legend, Hardywood, Strangeways, Isley, Center of the Universe, Midnight Brewery, and Licking Hole Creek. Public tours depart Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. Other times are available by appointment.
WINERY TOUR. Virginia is on Travel and Leisure Magazine's top five list of up-and-coming wine regions that "should be on the must-visit list of any adventurous wine traveler." Guests can sample multiple wine varieties at each winery. Wine tours can go to Richmond, Charlottesville or Williamsburg. Food and drink, including alcohol for private charters, are allowed on the trolley.

"Friday night is the best time to go for a date. You can work with the owners to create a one-of-a-kind date with items that await you at a destination. Why not include a charcuterie board, jelly bean sampler, or chili pepper challenge at one of the stops?" - Mona Jain, dating consultant, River City Romance
