Why We Love It

Built in 1887, the Renaissance transports guests to a Victorian era through its sky-and-cloud ceiling, murals and oil paintings, and a refined and elegant design.

Some of the largest Richmond events and high-profile guests have graced their floors including a president or two. The barback and shelves come directly from Robert E. Lee's home.

The Roosevelt Ballroom features a 30-foot ceiling, three glorious chandeliers, an ample stage, floor-to-ceiling arched palladium windows and a spacious balcony. The original hardwood floors provide the dance floor. The ballroom has famously hosted Roosevelt's private reception when he visited Richmond, and has since hosted galas, weddings, graduations, proms and fundraisers.

The Grand Foyer and Adams Room feature take guests back to the vision the architects intended in 1888. The wall accents, carpet and decor reflect the grandeur of the time. The Adams room is ideal for conferences, small receptions and wedding ceremonies.

The Renaissance has received recognition for their wedding events including 2013‐2015 Best of the Knot, 2015 Wedding Couples Award and the Bridal A‐List award from Richmond Bride.

Group Logistics

The Roosevelt Ballroom at the Renaissance holds up to 600 people as a stand up reception or up to 300 people as a seated affair.

The Adams Room holds 88 people seated or 115 as a stand up reception.

The Renaissance only hosts one private event a day, which means that the party receives exclusive attention from their staff.

For weddings, amenities are available such as a bride's private dressing room, planning services and in-house staff.

Large bands and orchestras are available to play on the stage in the ballroom.
